Don't panic. It's me

I started this website when I moved to New York - July 31st, 2004. I moved here from Oklahoma in search of fame and glory in the advertising world. I will write about what goes on in my life and in my head. I will share my experiences with those who wish to keep up, and those who mistakenly stumbled here.

I can read

Below are the last few books I have read and my rating for them. If you click on the book title, you will get my 4 sentence review.

Rich Dad, Poor Dad
I have to admit, this probably would have been a Jitba Rated 3, but I was very motivated by the book and thus gave it an extra star. If you are in the need of getting your finances in order, or want a bit of perspective - check this book out. I have recommended it now to multiple people, who have all thanked me for the recco after they finished the book.
Amazon: Rich Dad, Poor Dad
The Devils Teeth
The story of the American Great White sharks, and those who live among them for 3 months out of the year. The book focuses on the Farallon islands in the SF bay. A team of researchers have dedicated their lives to this baron and unforgiving rock to study some of the worlds largest and fierce fish. A must read for Shark fans.
Amazon: The devils teeth
Busting Vegas
Another good book by Ben Mezrich. The past Jitba reviewed books by him were "Bringing down the house" (rated 4) and "Ugly Americans" (rated 5 & a Jitba Recco). This book is written in the same must turn the page style, although after reading Bringing down the house - this book just doesn't have the same luster. It is a good book though, especially if you are visiting vegas soon!
Amazon: Busting Vegas
The Long Walk
A book by stephen king. A departure for me, reading a novel vs a non fiction piece. But what a departure it was, I loved this book. This was my second time reading it, and if you are looking for a book to take you out of the here and now - this is it.
Amazon: The Long Walk
The Radioactive Boyscout
This quick read is the true story of a 15 yearold who built a nuclear reactor in his parents shed, bringing danger to an entire Detriot suburb. Very entertaining and informative on issues on nuclear energy and radioactive elements. More than a few chapters are devouted to just those subjects, story aside. A bit slow at parts but overall a decent one.
Ugly Americans
Written in the same style as Bringing Down the House (Same author) - It is the story of a few Ivy league grads who move to Asia and exploit the Asian stock exchange. 24 year olds with salaries in the millions - driving Ferrari's and $10,000 per month apartments. One of my favorite books of late - JITBA recco.
Mr. Nice
Couldn't put it down. An Oxford grad who fell into the drug scene and at the end of it all became one of the worlds largest suppliers of Hash. He has one hell of a ride and a great story to tell - JITBA recco.
Microserfs
A story about 4 ex-Microsoft employees who left during the dot-com boom to the freedom and fast paced world of Silicon Valley. Great fast read, great gift for your favorite internet geek.
