Sooners
Tough game for the sooners last night. Just like the past 3 years its going to be a long off season. Not sure why they can’t finish the job and win the big bowl game. Oh well, there is always next season.
Boomer!

The sooners defeated the # 1 ranked Missouri Tigers tonight in a 38 - 17 victory in the big 12 championship game.
We had the Progressive Interactive christmas party at Brother Jimmys with the whole company (4 of us) and the wives/girlfriends in tow. We had a great time eating our faces and stomachs full of BBQ and PBR, watching OU take home the title/
OU Digital Initiative - personal interest piece
A nice personal interest spin on the conference I spoke at last week.
Her name is Liz Maute, and she’s a 21-year-old senior at the University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication, where I’m teaching this fall.
She says she’s an advertising major, but that’s just a ruse. What she really is is a budding entrepreneur who’s learning how to use interactive digital technology to help her realize her dreams and ambitions, make a decent living and ultimately help revive New Orleans’ Katrina-battered economy.
I met Liz last Saturday at the end of “Digital Initiative” week organized by Gaylord College Dean Joe Foote that brought ten top people from the fields of journalism, public relations and advertising to the OU campus to explain to students how they can build a career by mastering the complex tools and techniques of the Internet.
read the rest here - I asked them to keep my name out of the piece, didn’t want the press.
back from the sooner state
Mike and I are back from Oklahoma - after a long weekend of working and talking with advertising/marketing students. The conference was great with a decent attendance by the marketing students. We had a number of students who were really engaged with learning what the world of digital marketing is like and how it works. We received really positive feedback from the professors and students which made the event all the more worthwhile. I would offer to put up the slides we made but the were really more talking points than leave behinds.
Although we do have some video of an amazing night at the hotel bar and their karaoke night. The highlights were trumped by a guy named Frant (yes Frant with an F) and his electric guitar he carried around the bar with his little pocket amp clipped to his belt. Stay tuned for videos and photos.
